1. Recognize that you are a sinner and that you need a savior. Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” This means that every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard.
  2. Repent of your sins. Acts 3:19 says “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Repentance means turning away from your sins and turning toward God.
  3. Believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Believing in Jesus means putting your faith in Him and trusting Him to save you.
  4. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9-10 says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
  5. Follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Matthew 16:24 says “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Following Jesus means living a life that is pleasing to Him.
